MY REVIEW :
I guess from August I am reading one after another amazing books. This is the first book by Akash Verma I am reading and the author left no chance to make me fall in love with his book.  I read the book in 1 go. When you reach to the middle of the book you just cannot let the book to close before reaching the end.

The cover of the book is brilliant. The title of the book is perfect. It totally fits with  what the title of the book is. The book does not just hold the love story but has many dark deep secrets within it. I got so engrossed while reading that I said that I was myself living between Dhruv, Shalini and Anuradha.

No doubt, Dhruv committed the biggest sin but at last he realised what he was doing. We can still find boys like Sid  in our society and even politician like that which is mentioned in the novel.

Over all, the book was an emotional ride having elements of romance and  thriller. The writing style of the author is good and the book is quite well edited. One can pick up this book again to read. I bet you won’t feel like getting bored.

RATING : 4.5/5

MY REVIEW :

From school days I have always distanced myself from History and Geography. I never liked reading History. I hardly choose to read Historical or Mythological books. But even after not liking History I willingly chose to read Harappa – Curse of The Blood River. The reason behind is the blurb itself was so intriguing. I had a sudden urge to pick up this book. I wanted to know the answers to the questions in my mind. Secondly even the cover was enough attractive to tempt me. Like the title would compel the readers to turn the pages, the introduction and prologue would also do the same. There are few books that hold suspense from page one. This book belongs to the same category. There are many books that hold the story of past and present but this book holds the story of AD and BC. There was bit confusion in the beginning but with the turning of pages; the book completely amazed me. From Harappa to Kashi the journey has been surely an interesting one. We know either a complete man or believe in God. But this book had a concept of half man and half God. The books hold many secrets within its pages. The book isn’t centered on one place. From Delhi to Harappa to Paris to Kashi the story revolves around many places. Vineet Bajpai has very well balanced the story of past and present. Apart from the story line, I would like to add that the book was quite informative too. I must praise the author for doing so well research before penning down. The book starts on a completely different note and ends on a note where it leaves the author astonished. It was surely a lengthy read and one cannot complete it in one sitting. But the interest of knowing what will happen next will force the readers to hold the book again as soon as they get time. The best part an author can do is to connect his/her readers to the characters and Vineet excelled in it. I felt that rather than reading I was witnessing it all in front of my eyes. The book was a splendid blend of history, mythology, and religion.

The language of the book is lucid. I ended this month reading a masterpiece. I would love to see this book as a movie someday. If you are looking something completely different from the ongoing trending genre without any doubt pick up this book. It is so engrossing that one won’t realize how much time they spent on reading.

Anurag Garg is an engineering graduate and works in the IT industry. He’s theauthor of two national bestselling novels, A Half-Baked Love Story and Love Notfor Sale. He finds himself close to nature and believes in creating circles of loveand service around him. He lives in Delhi with his family.

MY REVIEW :
Love will find a way is one of those gripping novels that I enjoyed reading. The blurb itself is very intriguing and the beautiful cover added the cherry to the cake. The author has very well unfolded each secret in the book. I got so engrossed in the book that I totally forgot about the train journey in the starting. Love will find a way is not just a love story of a guy and girl. It has many stories within it. Not only love but the book even holds psychology within it. What I loved the most about the book was that how the author had shown situations of each phase. How jealousy overtook the friendship. How the people are confused between lust and love. How they are messed up between their work life and their dreams. But as the author novel says ‘Love will find a way’, I feel it surely find a way. The love between Madhav and Meera should not call a love. It was just spending time together because they had no one else in their life. I would call it a mysterious book. New chapters and then a new secret got unfolded. Each character held important place in the story. The journey from Delhi to Nainital was amazing. The language used by the author was very simple. The small poems were wonderful. I would suggest this novel to those who are looking for something except Romance. No doubt, the book holds romance within it but it has elements of mystery, psychology too which makes it an amazing read.

THE COST OF LOVE

Standard

BLURB :

“The Cost of Love” is a fictional read inspired by the Nirbhaya case. It raises a genuine concern on the pre-existing Juvenile act in our country, which has now, fortunately, been amended. Aaryan, a software engineer working at an IT firm in Delhi, is sentenced to death. He is found guilty of brutally murdering Himanshu and raping a 28-year-old girl. Aaryan is only left with five days and during his last days, he decides to pen down his story. Aarushi, orphaned at the age of five, has only one dream i.e. to become an IAS officer. She is bold, beautiful and determined not to fall in love, until her dream comes true. Aaryan does every possible way to impress Aarushi and promises her that unless she expresses her feelings, he won’t say, “I Love You.” Everything was going smooth, until that unfortunate night when Aarushi decides to express her love to Aaryan. That night, Aarushi was brutally raped. Was he Aaryan? Why did he do this to the girl whom he loved madly? Discover the purest love story and walk through the journey of Aaryan and Aarushi.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR :

Saurabh Singh is a Technical Marketing engineer by profession at a product company based in Hyderabad. He hails from the steel city of Jharkhand, Bokaro Steel City. He is also the author of “College 2 Company…journey of an engineer.” ‘The Cost of Love’ is his second fiction novel inspired by Nirbhaya case.

MY REVIEW :

I have always loved reading those books which have an emotional touch in them. Most of the books I have read had brought tears to my eyes. But honestly, The Cost Of Love is the first book which brought tears to my eyes in the beginning itself. The words Aaryan wrote for Aarushi in the small note were heart breaking.

When I live in the world where people are struggling with own problems, the author introduced his readers to Nikhil, a friend who I guess is difficult to find in real life. The cost of Love is not just the story of Aaryan and Aarushi but it holds the problems of society, lack of proper law and order in our country.  The author has very well shown each aspect in his book. No love story is like a bed of roses. One has to cross many hurdles in their life to win their love. Like every love story, even Aaryan had to cross the hurdles but no one knew that his love story would be the most difficult one. I salute Aarushi, despite having her own struggles from childhood she thought of society. She wanted to change the world. Her strong determination made her fulfill her dreams. I have a very bad habit of guessing the story beforehand. Even this time I did the same and failed. The story had a totally different ending of what I had thought.

The astrologer part made me laugh a lot. Aaryan confused asking questions like, “Is she following me, or is she really so powerful?” adds more humor to the book.

I would like to quote some of my favourite shayaris:

“Kisi roz tere dil ki darwaze mei dastak denge, Aaj is oor khade hai, ek din tere rooh mei honge.”

“Jinke sapne asmaan chune ke the, woh zameen par hi fanaa ho gaye.”

“Tujhe bhula sakhu, woh bahana khojta hu Apne dil ko behla saku, woh fasana khojta hu Jis Bhagwan ki log khaate hai kasme, woh Bhagwan khojta hu Meri ruuh jo tere sath chali gayi, Aaj ussi ruuh ko khojta hu”

The language used by the author was simple. The narrative technique style was good. I would love to re read this book again and again. The Shayari’s used by the author in the middle was awesome.

I would suggest this book to everyone. I feel no one will get bored reading this book. Everyone will feel connected when they will be turning the pages. I regret reading this book as an e-book. I wanted to hold this book in my hands. This has been the loveliest read of mine for this month.

SOLITUDE REVISITED

Standard

The book is provided by <a href=”https://www.facebook.com/arudhaclub ”> Arudha Club</a> in exchange for a genuine review.

BLURB :

Solitude Revisited is a collection of short stories. It is a confession, a realization and the musings of a pensive young heart. There are a million stories around us, but few are told. This book is about those invisible souls you encounter everyday, but never care to observe. Sometimes, the eyes need to look further than just what they can fathom, the heart needs to seek an anecdote and the mind needs to frame a memoir for the soul — to survive the vastness reality throws at it. That’s where fiction steps in, presenting an alternative universe for the mind to thrive in, so it may preserve its individuality and brood over its reflections. Thoughts demand to be contemplated and preserved just like history, for they tell infinite stories no sane mind can perceive. Solitude Revisited is all but real; it’s a confidante and a confession, an artist and his muse, a whisper and a madman. Listen to it and you may find yourself, listen to yourself and you may find it.

About The Author:

Manaswita Ghosh is an independent media professional based in Calcutta. She is an optimist who believes each day has beauty in store for those who seek it, no matter how bad a day it is. She loves to observe and pen her thoughts as they occur to her; penning stories has been more of an obsession to her than a casual pastime. She has worked for The Telegraph Calcutta in the past. Penguin Books India, The British Council, First Step Corp., and Talent Flush Creations have published her in the past. Of every amazing experience this world has to offer her, she is crazy about travelling, reading and fine dining.

MY REVIEW :

I read many books in a month. There are few books which directly touch my soul and then there are some books whose one or two characters I love the most. I would love to keep, “Solitude Revisited” in the first category. The collection of stories that book holds is emotional and wonderful. Reading short tale have always been my most favourite and so the blurb was enough to excite me. I usually read all books acknowledgement but the first line of acknowledgement of this book was so lovely. Moving on towards the stories all the ten stories are amazing in their own way. The first story of Zara is about a girl who runs behind her ambition and has lost everyone around her. The tale of Arundhati, the life of Arundhati has been an emotional one.I strongly feel people suffer from heartbreak, many problems comes in people life but nothing is so big that people choose to end up their life. The tale of Veronica was a shocking one for  me atleast. Akanksha’s story is a sweet loving story. The story, ” Afreen” broke my heart in many pieces. I hugged my pillow for minutes while I read this story. “LIFE IS TOO SHORT FOR OLD FINGERS TO COUNT REGRETS. ” The story named “Joy” also was much emotional. It brought tears to my eyes.

Overall, the different characters have different stories in them. The author has very well written each story. The language was quite easy to understand and the way author presented each character was wonderful. I am surely going to read few stories twice or may be thrice too..

RAFFLESIA – THE BANISHED PRINCESS

Standard

The book is provided by <a href=”https://www.facebook.com/arudhaclub ”> Arudha Club</a> in exchange for a genuine review.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR :
A B-School graduate, Gautam is a business analyst by profession. Considers the laptop as among his best friends and nurses a secret desire to turn an entrepreneur someday.

MY REVIEW :

‘Rafflesia – The Banished Princess’ by Gautam is a lengthy yet interesting book and has the details of the potragonist past and present life. The blurb of the book has so many questions which will only be answered by turning the pages of the book. The cover of the book is good but it could have been more better. The book holds story of Appu which will make one emotional at times. The plot of the book is quite good and it also tells the bond of friendship that Appu and Rahul has. The book at one point seems to be a fairy tale but later after turning more pages, the author shows the other side. The struggles in Appu life has been very well described. In short, Rafflesia – The Banished Princess is a package of human struggle, dreams , emotions and  friendship bond. The author could have skipped few parts or have shortned it. One need to have patience while reading this book. The language of the book is easy and the narrative style of the author is good. Overall, a wonderful read.

Inderjit Kaur is an author, motivator with a powerful voice of spreading positive words through her writings. A highly influential blogger and inspirational guide who with her tag line ‘Keep smiling, keep shining’, has brewed up with the original concept of living through her books of A living series.

MY REVIEW :

“Transitions and Beyond” is a book which will fill you with positive vibes. While reading the blurb one can get the idea what the book is all about. The book consists of three modules i.e. the change, Interventions and Revive and Renewal. Each module consists of fifteen chapters. The book is a self help book. The first module consists of transitions and change. By reading each and every chapter one will surely gain something. In the module, there were few chapters I read twice like breaking the patterns, don’t let difficulties to break you, You can’t cross a chasm in two small jumps and changes crisis into creativity. The second module interventions; understanding the depth will explain how to deal with stress and improve yourself. Time to evaluate, Magic of words, everything is not perfect, world is a stage, Learn to appreciate others, Winning the battle within, Accepting the flaws were the chapters that motivated me. I marked these chapters that whenever next time I pick up this book I should re-read them first. The last module Revive and Renewal will help you to connect with life again. The book contains some small story types examples to make concept much clear. The chapter at the end of each chapter is a must read. There are few thoughts I would like to highlight.

* Today is the day to set some big goals and chase our dreams.

*If you want to change your surroundings, then make sure to change yourself first.

*Situations would worsen and adversity will happen that is for sure guaranteed.

*Perfection are like black and white photograph while imperfections are like a plethora of different colours splattered on a blank canvas.

*Decent sturdy relationships can be spoilt with trivial moments of anger, ego and doubts. So just stop your ego from creeping into your ties and destroying them. Keep yourself calm by saying ‘Thank You’ instead of being defensive.

There are many more amazing thoughts, quotes mentioned in the book which one will love to note down.  I would recommend this book to every one because if you are depressed and hopeless this book will motivate you. And if you are a happy human being then also pick up this book and read it and gift it to someone who need it around you.
