The curtains draw up. Lights are dimmed. The musical is about to begin. As the beautiful princess descends on stage, the mythical creatures from her kingdom come alive. Flickers of brilliant colours blaze across as mesmerizing music pulsates from one corner of the theatre to the other. A fairy tale is about to unfold…

As young children, we often come across things that stay in our hearts forever. For Appu, it is a fairy tale about a beautiful princess. He lives with her in a world filled with the magical creatures from her kingdom until the real world beckons. A reluctant Appu steps into it as a striking young man and struggles to find his place.

What follows is an evocative tale of love and loss, friendship and betrayal, as the story travels through the snow-peaked mountains of Arunachal to the golden deserts of Jaisalmer, the tulip gardens of Holland to the lush greens of Kerala. Does Appu find what he had set out for? The answer lies in Rafflesia — The Banished Princess because in her story, lay his!”

A B-School graduate, Gautam is a business analyst by profession. Considers the laptop as among his best friends and nurses a secret desire to turn an entrepreneur someday.

‘Rafflesia – The Banished Princess’ by Gautam is a lengthy yet interesting book and has the details of the potragonist past and present life. The blurb of the book has so many questions which will only be answered by turning the pages of the book. The cover of the book is good but it could have been more better. The book holds story of Appu which will make one emotional at times. The plot of the book is quite good and it also tells the bond of friendship that Appu and Rahul has. The book at one point seems to be a fairy tale but later after turning more pages, the author shows the other side. The struggles in Appu life has been very well described. In short, Rafflesia – The Banished Princess is a package of human struggle, dreams , emotions and  friendship bond. The author could have skipped few parts or have shortned it. One need to have patience while reading this book. The language of the book is easy and the narrative style of the author is good. Overall, a wonderful read.

A highly influential blogger and inspirational guide who with her tag line ‘Keep smiling, keep shining’, has brewed up with the original concept of living through her books of A living series.

“Transitions and Beyond” is a book which will fill you with positive vibes. While reading the blurb one can get the idea what the book is all about. The book consists of three modules i.e. the change, Interventions and Revive and Renewal. Each module consists of fifteen chapters. The book is a self help book. The first module consists of transitions and change. By reading each and every chapter one will surely gain something. In the module, there were few chapters I read twice like breaking the patterns, don’t let difficulties to break you, You can’t cross a chasm in two small jumps and changes crisis into creativity. The second module interventions; understanding the depth will explain how to deal with stress and improve yourself. Time to evaluate, Magic of words, everything is not perfect, world is a stage, Learn to appreciate others, Winning the battle within, Accepting the flaws were the chapters that motivated me. I marked these chapters that whenever next time I pick up this book I should re-read them first. The last module Revive and Renewal will help you to connect with life again. The book contains some small story types examples to make concept much clear. The chapter at the end of each chapter is a must read. There are few thoughts I would like to highlight.

* Today is the day to set some big goals and chase our dreams.

*If you want to change your surroundings, then make sure to change yourself first.

*Situations would worsen and adversity will happen that is for sure guaranteed.

*Perfection are like black and white photograph while imperfections are like a plethora of different colours splattered on a blank canvas.

*Decent sturdy relationships can be spoilt with trivial moments of anger, ego and doubts. So just stop your ego from creeping into your ties and destroying them. Keep yourself calm by saying ‘Thank You’ instead of being defensive.

There are many more amazing thoughts, quotes mentioned in the book which one will love to note down.  I would recommend this book to every one because if you are depressed and hopeless this book will motivate you. And if you are a happy human being then also pick up this book and read it and gift it to someone who need it around you.

Life is a fast-paced Twenty20 game and you need to keep playing to win. Abhi and Aditi are siblings who want to realise their dreams in the ever upgrading world. In the midst of all the struggle and success, they get entangled in a strange web. If they are not able to resolve the crisis in twenty days, their very existence can come under threat. In short, they have to hit sixes on every bouncer thrown at them. Not just with the world outside, this ordeal is also a fight with one’s own character and principles.

Unwanted situations, unexpected turns, money and sex push them deeper into the web. Manipulations and treachery become the order. The hunter becomes the hunted. A vicious circle of betrayal and debauchery is created. ‘Twenty Twenty’ is a story of betrayal, deceit and relationships, where a master planner devises games, to get to his own ambitions.

Anuraag Srivastava, having done his schooling and college from Lucknow, has been a banker for over eighteen years now. Presently based at Ghaziabad, he has written more than a hundred poems in Hindi and English. A learning guitarist, an amateur photographer and an avid reader, he is a multi-faceted person. He also runs a blog for sharing his views on spirituality and general philosophy.

”Twenty Twenty a race against time” by Anuraag Srivastava is one of those book which I read completely in one sitting and ended up saying, ” Waaaohhh what a twist. ” Starting with the cover, it is designed perfectly well which matches with the theme. The title of the book is adding cherry to the cake as it is the best title for this book. Reading the blurb of the book one can guess the book to be totally different from all the book currently trending in the market. The book all over revolved around the life of Abhi but even his sister Aditi part in the book was equally important. Abhi had to return twenty lakhs rupees to Raghu bhai and how is sister’s life was at danger. Aditi had listen to the threat given to her brother but rather than discussing with her brother, she started thinking ways to arrange the money. Even Abhi was trying to manage money at his own level. People say world is really a small place. On one hand where Aditi tried contacting Rajal whom she knew from many years but had a great fight with him. On the other hand even Abhi got a work but his boss was Rajal. Apart from these characters there are many more important characters. I liked the whole book. The author has maintained the pace well. I just found that Alka and Rajal part was too much at some places. The secrets get exposed when we turn pages after pages. The biggest secrets comes out in the last few pages. The language of the book is quite simple. Overall, the book was an enjoyable and small read.

J. Alchem is a voracious reader and a critically acclaimed author. He is the winner of StoryMirror season 1 (a nationwide writing competition), Superhero Storyteller and NaNoWriMo-2015. He has written in several magazines and newspapers and received the appreciation for the same. His stories have been published in numerous Anthologies such as Blank Space, Love Bytes and Mighty Thoughts and on various online channels as well.

He is actively involved in writing quotes and short write-ups which are often seen being circulated among the youth in Facebook, Whatsapp and other Social networking sites. Recently he has signed a short movie contract on his award winning short story.

There are many books which I have read twice but “The HighWay Man” by J Alchem is the first book that I read twice in one go. The book contains three wonderful stories and trust me you won’t want any story to end. From the first word of the book to the last one each word will just touch deep inside your heart. Yes, I mean from dedication itself. Apart from author’s inspiration in life he dedicated this book to all the broken people out here. Never ever, any such acknowledgement has touched my heart but even his acknowledgement was such that I read it twice. I guess you can know the intense feeling present in acknowledgement which made me read it twice.

The first story is about the bestseller author Nicholas Sieum who has written super amazing romantic series. Dr. Rusenvelt, a 62 years old physician is a huge fan of Nicholas Sieum. The turning point comes when the doctor receives a call from Nicholas Sieum father. After meeting doctor comes to know that the author is in love but with his book character Catherine. Nicholas love for Catherine is so deep that it has actually turned to a disease and the cure done by doctor was something else than expected.

The second story is of Jihaan and Sidzy. I know this story will be loved by everyone who reads this book. If ever you ask a girl what type of guy she wants to marry ? The description will just like Jihaan character. Even the dream of getting married to a man like Jihaan was making me feel like being of heaven.

Last but not the least, the third story made me cry a lot. By, ‘A lot’ I literally mean a lot. If I wouldn’t have reading an e-book, I would have hugged the book and shed my tears. The story is about a father and his son Ayaan. Ayaan who usually used to hide her tears after her mother died in an accident; laughed a lot when one day he was going to Agra with his father and met a man on Highway who asked for a lift from them. And the journey along with #KuchBhi just made me laugh a lot. But after few days, Ayaan came to his father crying holding a newspaper. The Highway man actually changed their life.

The language of the book is quite simple and easy to understand. The book is simply outstanding. J Alchem, I loved your baby. Your baby is a shining star among other star. It is surely an emotional read but an inspirational too. I would recommend this book to every person reading this review. Do read this book and I am sure you will come back and thank me for this recommendation.

A quest to identify seven deadly sins

A mystery behind seven keys that were passed to seven men

A deadly race against time to seek atonement

On the outskirts of New York City, Jim Morgan, an international bestselling author learns through God that he had committed seven sins in his previous life. Clues lie in the six novels he has written, that would lead him to the mystery. But the novels won’t reveal everything to him. With seven days on hand, he must walk in the direction that faith leads him in, to reach the lost chamber of Seven Planets. Unless Morgan understands the secret behind his past life and the sins he committed, his chance to live will be lost forever.

Bharat Madan is an author, motivational speaker and a personality developer. He has been a meritorious student through his time at college and holds an MBA from Amity University. He received the prestigious Shree Baljit Shastri Award and Best All Round Student Award, the highest awards at his university.

His journey as a writer began after he finished his education. His first piece of fiction, the story of a college boy over three years, was set aside in favor of his decision to make a debut with a more mature and conceptually unique novel.

As a motivational speaker, he has inspired thousands of students in reputed schools in Jaipur. Through his writing and speaking skills, Bharat endeavors to add value to the lives of students and make their personalities forces to be reckoned with.

After pressing demands from his listeners, Bharat started a Youtube Channel called “Bharat Madan” to share his ideas through the digital platform.
He derives inspiration from his mother who raised him single-handedly after he lost his father at a young age.

Ever heard that God visited a person and had a talk with him? No! Then, meet Jim Morgan, to whom God visited. Jim Morgan is an international bestselling author. The cover of the book is designed quite well and matches with the theme and plot line of the book. The blurb of the book in one read is quite catchy and one cannot stop himself from turning the pages. And once you turn the pages, I bet, you just can’t put it down before you reach to the last page. The starting itself is so intriguing. The best part is Bharat Madan chose a totally different theme if compared to other authors of the present time. The story begins with Jim Morgan coming to know about the seven sins he has committed in the previous birth. Jim Morgan is informed by God that all his sins are mentioned in the book. One can feel the connection with the characters while reading the book. The number ‘7’ is quite significant part of this book, from 7 sins to 7 planets, from 7 persons to 7 novels. Jim has completed his six novels and his working on his seventh one. The book isn’t just about sins and past birth but has a relation with science and astrology.

The language of the book is simple and the author has done a great work. It is surely a well-researched book. The author very well knew how to hold readers interest till the end. I would suggest this book to all those who are looking to read something totally different and new. I am sure each reader will enjoy this mystery thriller having lots of suspense.

The Day Before I Died is the story of a girl Swetlana. Starting with the cover, it was designed quite well. While reading the book I had predicted a different story in my mind but by turning pages failed my prediction failed. The story totally came out to be different. The book was quite engaging. The poems in the middle was very nice. This book shows culture of two nations. One can at time imagine things happening right in front of their eyes . Swetlana, a Russian girl who belonged to a politically rich family but still she is not happy. She meets a man Brijesh from India and falls in love with him. The author has potrayed each character quite well. I would love to appreciate the author for the name of the characters which was giving their impact on the story.

The book was short yet was not lacking anywhere. But at points it was difficult being a reader to get connected. It was a historical and romantic read. I will recommend this book to everyone who is finding something short and interesting to read.
