He has also spoken at numerous Indian and international forums like South Asia Media Summit (Islamabad), TEDx (Allahabad) and several IITs and IIMs.

MY REVIEW :

When Opposites Meet by Sachin Garg is an amazing book. The title if the book is enough to tell the theme of the book. The cover of the book has been designed quite well. It totally matches with the plot of the book. The book has been divided into 22 chapters and each chapter has a story to tell. The book consists of six main characters. Each character in the book holds the story within it. The story begins with the introduction of girl Ritwika and Bikram, her Twitter friend. Indu, Ritwika’s mother was a single parent to her daughter. Ritwika’s father was not at all interested in having his daughter custody. Ritwika was a handicapped child but she did not let this become her weakness. Her mother too always supported her. Indu and Ritwika were more of best friends than the mother daughter duo.
Ritwika cousin, Jayant has a different story in his life. After his parent death he turned to a silent guy. He met a girl Aditi who had a strange habit which was about to take her life. Aditi became one of the close friend of Jayant.
The book takes you through different lane of life. The author maintained the balance all the characters. Everyone we given equal importance. Not on a single point, I got confused between the story line. Overall; the author knew what exactly people want to read. Even being a love story the writing style of the author was different and he made the book engrossing. I would suggest this book to everyone. I bet you won’t regret picking this book.

MY REVIEW :
Among all the genres, Thriller and History Mythology has always fascinated me less as compared to love stories. But at present when I picked few books of thrillers to read, the interest level of mine started increasing. The Aravan Head also proved to increase my curiosity level from the time I read the blurb of the novel. The cover of the book is designed as per the story line of the book.

The Aravan Head holds the story of Inspector Arya who tries to solve one incident after another. Moreover, what I admired the most that the author has covered those aspects in the book about which generally people fear to even talk about. The author has potrayed each character in the book quite well. Once you start reading the book you will be so engrossed that you won’t know when you will be reaching towards the end of the book.

Overall, the book is an amazing read with full of suspense in it. From the plot to the narrative technique everything is good. You will surely feel like watching this book as a movie someday.

RAZOR SHARP : 13 SHORT STORIES

Standard

“This Book Review/Interview is a part of  The Readers Cosmos Book Review Program and Book Promotions” to know more log on to http://thereaderscosmos.blogspot.in/.”

BLURB :

In my debut collection of short stories, I explore relationships and friendships, bits of the past and the present, and changing times. Each story explores a world, a relationship or an incident unto itself: while they are disjointed, my sole purpose is to touch the reader’s mind and enhance his or her pleasure. Too many short stories, I believe, aim to befuddle and confuse, and in the process, lose sight of what is most important. Having been in this position several times in the past, in this collection, I present little bits of myself in the hope that you, the reader, feel happy or sad, laugh or despair – but never feel cheated.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR :

Abhinav Kumar is a 24 year old corporate lawyer from New Delhi, India. He has been writing (and collecting rejections) for two years, and regret not having begun earlier. His life acquired a new meaning the day he completed (and later, published) his first short story, and now ideas come charging at him at random at all times of the day.

MY REVIEW :

Being a writer of short stories, reading short stories have always been my first choice. Starting with the title of the book it appealed me the most. The title ‘Razor Sharp’ is surely a unique choice by the author. The book consists of thirteen super amazing short stories in it. The saying, “Never judge a book by its cover” is totally apt for this book. Although the cover of the book is quite simple yet the pages contained masterpiece within it.

Each story among those thirteen had a different tale to tell and a different message to convey. The first story ‘Razor Sharp’ describes how few minutes meeting with a completely strange person can change your life. Even a stranger or I must say just a roadside barber whom the protagonist met by chance had a deep impact on his life. The story ‘Prejudice’ is also about two stranger meeting but has a strong message for the society. The story ‘A special Occasion’ is a simple yet beautifully crafted story. ‘A Breath of fresh air’ is an extremely well flash fiction. The other stories like Lust, Half Century, One Play Day are also written and expressed in a good manner. Among all the stories, the story ‘Memory’s had a deep impact on me. This was the story with which I could connect the most. I know how bad a person feels while he is bullied by his batch mates of any weakness. How bad impact it can be on that person life? Making fun is quite simple but the bearer goes through any pain. The consequence at the end is either the sufferer dies or he takes revenge. The author has very well described each incident of all his stories.

When I read the blurb of the book it compelled me to turn the pages. The reason behind among all the aspects of life ‘Friendship and ‘Relationship’ are the two points with which I connect the most. I had thought as it is a small book I would complete it an hour or so. But I took more than three hours to reach the end page of the book. The writing style of the author is so well that at times I had to re-read few lines. The author very well knew how to make his readers fully engrossed in his book. Overall, the book is an interesting ride of various emotions. Any person who would pick up this book will completely enjoy reading it.

MY REVIEW :

The First Sip Of My Morning Coffee is one of that book whose cover and title appealed me the most. The cover is designed amazingly. The blurb is quite intriguing to force a reader to turn up the pages. Moving towards the book, among the various others books that I have read till date this is the first book that included poetry, quotes and a short story within it. The book consisted of 32 short poems…The author very well managed the rhyme scheme of most of the poems. But there were few poems that ended before they started. The quality of poetry was missing in few poems. Coming to the quotes section of the book I would say the author tried her best to add positive quotes. No doubt, while reading as a reader I liked them. But some were not quotes according to me but a very short story. The last section of the book i.e the short story. I would suggest the author when she created a separate section for short story then she should have added three-four stories at least. The story was quite predictable. The author could have avoided using full address of certain places. The story contained few good information within it. As a reader, I felt that apps should exist in reality. The book lacked in it editing at certain points. I wish the author best wishes for her second book.

RATING : 3/5

Amit Singh hails from Lucknow. He is a computer science graduate. Lives in New Delhi and is currently working with DXC Technology, Noida. He is very fond of reading novels, loves to play guitar and travels in his spare time. He has a poetic heart and loves to write poems and stories.
MY REVIEW :

The title of the book ‘It Happens Only In Love’ says it all. There are many things that happen only in love. We see many people getting success after their heartbreaks. On the other hand, there are few who work hard only for getting their love. This book consisted the story of a college-going guy who was never ever serious about his studies and his career. He only knew how to enjoy life with friends. After he graduated and he passed anyhow he started feeling lonely. All his other friends were focused on what they had to do. They had their after plans set already. But Aditya only knew how to enjoy life.

It is said that a person only works hard when they have to get something anyhow. The same happened in Aditya’s life. One random day while switching channels his eyes glued to a news channel. This was the turning point in Aditya life. Ananya who was just a stranger to him suddenly became the most important part of his life. To meet him he did whatever he could. He even started finding jobs for himself.

Overall, I completely enjoyed reading the book. The book is simple yet the story within the pages make it interesting. The author could have focused a bit more on the other characters of the book too. For sure the book is not at all predictable. The mystery remained on each page. But going through the last few pages my heart was sinking. It made me emotional. But it is said true love wins over all the problems. The book justifies this point totally. Everyone who would pick up this book would completely enjoy reading it.

ONE LAST TIME

Standard

The book is provided by <a href=”https://www.facebook.com/arudhaclub ”> Arudha Club</a> in exchange for a genuine review.

BLURB :

Nakul, a fifteen-year- old boy from Delhi who has been raised with a silver spoon, visits a quaint little village in Madhya Pradesh. The crudeness and modesty of the village changes how he perceives different aspects of life. There he comes across Prakash, the son of a paddy farmer, who is the yin to his yang – their contrasting ideas on life fail to stunt the growth of their nascent friendship as ultimately it is their exuberance and a taste for adventure that bring them together.

In the midst of their tale is the charming and talented Aakanksha who lives in the shadow of a spotlight. She goes through the motions of life according to the perceived ideals of society, consistently feeling a void, for she lacks a genuine friend.

One Last Time is an eclectic and delectable fusion of Nakul’s superficial urbane sensibilities, Aakanksha’s confounded solitude and Prakash’s rustic but sagely naiveties – one that will change their destinies forever.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR :
Anubhav Shrivastava graduated with a B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics from Manipal Institute of Institute of Technology in the year 2015. He is extremely passionate about cricket and movies. He has previously worked as a Consultant in Fractal Analytics and currently works in OLA.

MY REVIEW :

One Last Time is an enjoyable one time read. The book won’t bore you. The cover of the book is designed well. The title is perfect, matching with the story line of the book. The book holds story of the kids of school days. What differentiate the book from other books in market is that this book does not add many showy elements within it. A simple book I must say.

Nakul, a city boy who runs miles away from the name of the village falls in love with the village life.

He learns few lessons of life. The story is all about the selfless bond of two friends Nakul and Prakash. Nakul purely a guy from city and Prakash a simple guy living in a village. But it is said right that it only take few seconds to like a person. The same was with these two boys. The bond of friendship grew so stronger between them that Nakul was fully determined to visit his grand mother village even in next holidays rather than going to Australia. I enjoyed reading the dialogues between everyone. I loved the cute friendship Aakansha and Nakul shared.

No doubt, the book is different from all those existing in market nowadays. But the authors could have made it a bit interesting. The writing style was simple and it could have been improved a bit. Moreover, it was not necessary to mention One Plus 3T every time. It could have been replaced with mobile. Despite few flaws; overall, I would say I had a good time reading this book.

MY REVIEW :

A twisted tale by Anand Kumar is a good one time read. The people who have left college years ago or even those who just left their college and entered to the world of job will love this book the most. It will be like a refreshing treat to them.Good old time memories will be for them. And the people who are in college nowadays will relate to everything. I felt like I am one among those characters present in the book. And the last category of people who are enjoying their school days even you will love the book and get more excited about entering college life.

The cover of the book is beautifully designed. The title is apt according to the story. What I liked the most in the book that the story did not end in the way every reader would imagine. The book shows how a good friend can change a person,  his/her mindset. Like the main protagonist of the book there are many people around us who are good in studies but don’t work hard to get good marks. But those same people excel quite well in other fields. I got nostalgic while reading the friendship of Akash and his friend of graduation days. Overall, the book was a wonderful read.. I bet everyone will love this book. The narrative style of the author is good. The language used by the author in the book is simple and easy to understand. It was a short and delightful read.
