THE UNEXPECTED LEADER

Standard

BLURB :

Ajith, the CEO of India’s most popular coffee chain, Good Morning Inc., is outrageously shocked to hear the pitch from a tech startup: fire all managers and replace them with AI. Though he wants to dismiss the idea, the pitch is ferociously compelling. Before Ajith could take a firm decision, an unexpected tragedy occurs at one of the coffee stores. Ajith loses control over his company overnight. He stages a secretive reverse coup to regain his company.

At the same time, the office of the WHO issues a warning about a global respiratory pandemic to the Indian government, but the prime minister’s office ignores it. Instead, it spends its focus on the developments of Good Morning Inc. Why would the PMO’s office be interested in the incidents of a corporate entity?

Rahul is excited to meet his blind date at one of the coffee shops of Good Morning Inc. What he doesn’t know is that he is just a pawn whose actions are about to trigger an avalanche of consequences in the lives of many people, related and unrelated to Good Morning Inc.

Will Ajith ever regain his company? Will he become the first CEO in the world to successfully use artificial intelligence instead of human leaders to manage its workforce?

MY REVIEW :

The Unexpected Leader by Joel Sadhanand is an interesting and engaging story.
The title of the book is catchy. The blurb itself arouses the interest at once. The cover of the book is simple and beautiful. I would rather say, the book is interesting but it depends upon how much your into the context you are, while reading it. The framework of the story is based on corporate life. You will totally enjoy it if you are business oriented and if you are someone who loves reading out of the box genre. You might take time to understand and get connected with the story line in the beginning but then once you are set, you will start to enjoy the book and it will grow on you with each passing page.

The book holds the story of CEO of a coffee chain in India, Ajith who is suggested to replace all his managers with Artificial Intelligence. Before Ajit could implement the idea, another shocking tragedy took place at one of his coffee bars. The books potrays the story of how two brothers gets entangled in chaos in the lure of actual power.  There is a set if interesting characters with their share of tale in this book. There is Bhagwandas, along side the main leads who rose from a journalist to editor quite quickly; it is interesting to follow his path as an unknown call changed the wheel of fortune. Another interesting character scale is of Shreya, daughter of Aryan and Anita who was a box full of questions; unfortunately, she was also suffering from Wilson’s disease. The book also takes a side to tell about Neha, who even after getting her loan approved faces many problems in life. Then there is also the character Rahul who is on his way to meet his girlfriend unaware of the fact that his life is in danger. The book consists of many more characters with different stories.

The language of the book is simple and easy to understand. The book isn’t totally related to business but it does holds a parallel political storyline. Overall, I would say if you are bored of reading common genres and looking for something different, this book is totally recommended. If the book is to described in one line – it is a sci-fi one with a full dose of corporate drama.

MY REVIEW :

“A story between the lines”, by Santosh shivaraj is a book that will teach you what all life does to us. The cover of the book is simple, sober yet beautiful. The blurb itself is so intriguing that one will feel much excited to turn the pages soon. The book holds the story of Adi who looses his memory but has a slight memories of his wife, Nila. Adi leads a struggleful life with lots of pain. He is in search of his love. Adi search for Nila is something that made me believe in passionate love.
There are other characters in the book like Salim, Dr. Ali who teaches us lesson of life through their characters.
The escape programme specially is something different that the author has written and I am sure this would have a great imapct on reader’s mind. Towards the end, one will surely feel that this book is a story between the lines like the title of the book say.The book is written in simple language and the author has well portrayed each character. The writing style of the author is amazing and I personally liked the narration skill of the author. Another aspect that makes the book amazing is each line speak emotions. Apart from everything, any lesson that the book teaches , the best part is the book teaches the lesson of humanity. Overall, a wonderful loveable read.

MY REVIEW :

“An Unexpected Gift” by Ajay K. Pandey is a wonderful book. Although, I am already a big fan of him but then his books add more love in my heart for him. The very first line of the blurb itself is so meaningful as well as thoughtful. The three bonds of life friendship, love and motherhood that the author has mentioned in the blurb is well explained in the book. The cover of the book looks simple in first impression and even I felt that it could be better but towards reaching till the end I found that this simple cover is perfectly apt for this book.

The book holds the story of Abhay who lost his wife as she was suffering from brain cancer. Sheetal enters to his life as care taker of Abhay’s son Ayush. The bond between Ayush and Sheetal is equal like that a mother and a son share. Abhay and Sheetal bond of friendship also grows with time until one day Abhay comes to know a truth about Sheetal.
The author has very well portrayed the story keeping in mind the issue of society and how people deal and react to it. Lots of emotions comes to one’s heart while reading this book.
The simple language of the book , easy narrative skills of the author make the book more enjoyable. Overall, I read the book in one go and it is an amazing read.

MY REVIEW :

“Love Story Of A Commando” by Swapnil Pandey holds the love story of a girl Riya and Captain Virat. The cover of the book has been designed beautifully. I strongly feel no other cover could do full justice. The blurb of the book broke my heart into million pieces. The book starts with a letter from Commando, A black cat. I swear this letter will melt your heart and bring tears to your eyes. Love at first sight is something most of the people have experienced in their life and so as a reader, I could connect well. The love story of Riya and Virat begins at an art exhibition. But then Virat leaves Riya in between and disappears. Riya with her broken heart decides to start fresh in life when she meet Virat again her life. I strongly feel this becomes the most difficult situation in one’s life. Although, with many twists and turns, the author has very well portrayed this storyline. This book made me so emotional all together but still I would recommend this to everyone because the ending has its own story and I am sure one will enjoy all the emotions that this book holds within its pages.

“Will You Stay” by Vedant Saxena and Annie Pruthi is। one of the best book I read this month. The blurb of the book is simple and one cannot guess much from it but has enough hints that forces one to turn the pages. The cover of the book is amazingly beautiful. The title of the book is actually thoughtful. In the era of broken relationship all over, the title will take you to an emotional zone. There are few books which brings various emotions within one’s heart and this book is one of them. Manya falling in love with her senior Shreyansh. I have always enjoyed reading love stories and for me this book was much relatable. The narrative technique of the authors is brilliant. MY REVIEW :

“The Sunshines Down” by Sankha Ghosh is a fast paced intriguing read. The cover of the book is perfectly amazing and the title is apt. The book shows the dirty side of Competitive exams. The book all about shows corruption in details. The two stories are moving simultaneously and what matters is that author has very well managed to write ii two stories together without creating confusion for readers. Shreya Basu is all set to reveals the dirty secrets of politics. While reading the book I could relate to most of the aspects mentioned in the book. The narrative technique of the author is brilliant and the way the author managed to hold the interest of the reader is brilliant. Overall, a perfect gripping thriller read. Between You and Me is a conversation that makes the reader ponder about the much-needed transformational changes for the twenty-first century. Why should we get up to act only when we are pushed to the corner? After all, a stitch in time saves nine. Will tinkering with these institutions help or are fresh ideas needed?

Encompassing an extensive discussion and analysis of what comprise our society-government, economy, education, healthcare, science, technology and so on-this book gives the reader a holistic view of India and helps in deriving solution-oriented ideas for a new societal design and structure which will ensure a thriving democracy. It presents the hope and aspiration of an ancient society that wants to break through the colonial legacy and land safely into the future. It is a gripping petition with operating models for redefining the citizen’s role-from the audience to the hero-which, if implemented, would bring societal moksha of peace, power and prosperity.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR :

He has built enterprises in manufacturing, engineering, machine vision, life sciences and now education by building an Indian-European knowledge corridor over the years. He lives a quiet, joyous life with his family and friends in Pune, India, and travels to Europe for work.

MY REVIEW :

“Between You and Me” – Flight To Societal Moksha is an interesting read. The blurb of the book is enough to arouse interest in one’s mind. The cover of the book is perfect and wonderfully designed. Last but not the least the title says it all.

The book is divided into three parts. Not only per part is important in itself but all the sub parts is important and interesting to read. The book starts with Eklavya and Karna from ancient India. The author has very well explained the need to establish fair opportunity. Moving forward, the author presents teaching from past few years highlighting Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Ambedkar, Indira Gandhi, Jinnah and he moved forward highlighting about the present day leaders like Narendra Modi. The writer provides the structure that is needed. While reading I could just agree to many more points the author has provided. After few chapters, the author talks about equality. The second part of the book talks about administration, case of Jammu and Kashmir and economy of the country. In the last part of the book the author talks about the actual song of India for him is ‘Hanuman Chalisa’. The author ends the book leaving the readers in the state of imagination.

This was the first time when I was reading book of this genre. This book proved to arouse my interest in such genres. I came to know about many facts which were unknown to me. Overall, it was surely a lengthy read. I took three days to complete the book but after finishing I realized that the book was worthy all the time. Recommending it to all those who are interested in knowing in deep about the country.

The cover of the book although simple and beautiful but is quite deep. The blurb of the book will make one sad but will leave you in the zone where you will be excited to know what actually happened and what will happen. To know the ending, one cannot wait to turn the pages. The book holds the story of Amman and Ayesha who meets in Shimla . Love blossoms between them but some turning happens. MY REVIEW :

‘Walk Out Of Your Head’ by Haqiqat Ali is a self help book that won’t bore you at all. The cover of the book is simple. The blurb of the book is interesting. Like it will create many questions in your mind. When I read the title first, it led me into confusion but after reading the complete book, I would say that the title is perfectly apt.

The first page of the book deals with various questions. The answers to those questions can be found while one turns the pages of the book. The author has brilliant example to put the points forward. The author has stressed upon the major issue “Overthinking”. Being myself an Overthinker, I was relating to it much. The book also explain three facets of Overthinking and again I would say the examples were wonderful. The language is lucid and narration is simple. It is a short read with lots of learning and experiences. A must read book.
