2-day-down is a compilation of stories of 5 women from different walks of life. Each story digs into one of the five period related problems: Pain/Staining/Sexual Inhibition/PMS/Taboo, through each one’s journey. The title signifies the second day of a woman’s period, which is said to be the toughest of the five days. The stories are a reflection of the less acknowledged society around us. Through menstrual problems as a window, the book is an attempt to bring light to the intriguing yet briefly understood aspects of womanhood in different age groups.

Dr. Nikita Lalwani considers herself to be married to writing, and is very happy in this relationship. She authored her first book Live Life… Stop Analysing it, at the age of 16. Her last book 2 peg kebaad won great appreciation by its readers and critiques. Swimming, spirituality, reading, and movies are other important aspects of her life. Nikita moved to writing blogs soon after completing her college, and currently works as an advertising professional in a reputed ad agency in Mumbai.

‘2 Day Down’ By Dr. Nikita Lalwani is a great attempt taken by the author to show case the conditions of the women. The title is perfect for the book and the sub title is thoughtful. The cover looks a bit complicated but is designed beautifully. The blurb of the book will make many things clear in your mind. The best part what I felt is that the author chose to write on those topics on which the world hesitate to talk about. All the five stories convey a powerful message to the society. The five more serious issues are talked about in the form of stories. I cannot call any one as my favourite as each story has its own value. The writing style of the author is amazing and the narrative technique is brilliant. The language of the book is lucid. Overall, it is a great read.
